WARWICK, R.I. – Aug. 3, 2026 — When Calvin Jones put his signature basketball showcase on hold to help his young son battle cancer, he wasn’t sure if the event would ever return. This fall, the All About the Buckets (AATB) All-Star Game will be back—this time with a renewed purpose inspired by that journey.

Like years past, the event—scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Community College of Rhode Island’s Warwick Campus—will bring together elite youth basketball and live entertainment. This year, in partnership with Camp Errol and The Tomorrow Fund, the event will also raise awareness and financial support for children receiving cancer treatment at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and their families.

Founded to create opportunities for talented young athletes and inspire the next generation through basketball, AATB quickly became one of New England’s premier grassroots basketball showcases. Over the course of more than a decade, it featured more than 70 athletes who went on to play NCAA Division I basketball, including 10 who reached the NBA.

The event paused several years ago after founder Calvin Jones’ son, Ra’Jhon, was diagnosed with pediatric cancer. As Ra’Jhon battled the disease—and later faced a relapse—the family’s focus shifted from basketball to treatment, healing, and recovery.

Today, Ra’Jhon is healthy, and his family’s journey has inspired the return of the AATB All-Star Game with a mission that extends beyond basketball. Raising vital funds for The Tomorrow Fund.

“The Tomorrow Fund played an incredible role throughout my son’s journey,” Jones said. “Their support meant more to our family than words can express. Experiencing pediatric cancer changed my perspective forever, and I felt a responsibility to use this platform to give back and help other families facing the same fight.”

The 2026 All-Star Game will feature many of the nation’s top middle school and high school basketball prospects competing before fans, coaches and scouts. The evening will also include a live performance by recording artist Cash Cobain, creating a memorable experience for athletes, families and the community while raising support for a meaningful cause.

Tickets can be purchased online.
